
Workshops are held Sundays from 2-4pm (except for game days- only to provide you with the convenience of not dealing with parking and crazy Ravens fans!) and a few Monday evenings. The cost will be $5 if you bring your own supplies, or for $20 we’ll provide you with all-natural yarn and knitting and crochet needles. All levels are welcome! Dates are listed below.
Oct. 18th- Knitting & Crochet Basics: with Katya
Learn the fundamentals of knitting and crocheting! Casting on, knit and purl stiches, casting off and basic tension and weight instructions. All levels welcome… More advanced knitters can begin projects with the aid of our instructors!
Oct. 25th- Scarf Workshop: with Kate Glenn
Start knitting or crocheting with the most basic, but also most practical piece: the scarf. Different stitch methods available as well as instructions on how to create different types of scarves in addition to traditional ones!
Nov. 8th- Hat Workshop: with Kate Glenn
Learn to knit or crotchet a warm and practical hat for the winter months to come! Circular needles are needed if wanting to knit, crochet needles for those wanting to learn more basic hat structures… Get as artsy as you want and experimentation is encouraged!
Nov. 15th- Holiday Apron with Elyza Brillantes
Learn to sew an apron just in time to wear for the holidays! We will have patterns available as well as sewing machines to teach how to make half and full aprons… Vintage fabric, trims and buttons will be available free of charge. Bringing your own fabrics are welcome as well!
Dec. 6th- Sweater/Jacket Workshop Pt. 1: with Katya
As the weather gets colder, learn to make a warm, wooly sweater or jacket that can be finished in time to give as a gift for the holidays… or wear to your holiday parties! All stitch patterns are welcome and instructions will be available for knit, purl, cable knitting and any other experimental stitching! Vintage buttons and trim will be provided free of charge if needed!
Dec. 14th- Sweater/Jacket Pt.2: (Workshop is held from 5:30p to 7:30p)
A sweater is more difficult to make so this will be the second half of the workshop so there will be time for you to learn everything, as well as expand on your design! Instructors will be available for help with projects and guiding all to finish pieces with perfection!
Dec. 21st- First Day of Winter Mittens: (Workshop held 5:30p to 7:30p)
Celebrate the first day of winter by making a pair of cozy mittens! This workshop will be from 5:30-7:30PM and is a potluck. There will be hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and homemade cookies provided!
