What We Got…

Here at di[e]ce, we believe in vintage. The history, the beauty, the sustainability… all of it makes vintage so coveted. And of course the fact that you will most likely never run into anyone else wearing the same thing as you is always a plus!

Vintage Re-done… why you need it in your life

DSCN0073

I would like to start this new space on the website with a little precursor as to what we are trying to do with vintage… or most importantly… what the hell is vintage? Well, lets start off with the basic answers…. No… it’s not thrift, it’s not consignment, it’s not just used old clothing…

The vintage here is special.

Beyond special.

In the recent years, vintage has been loosely used to cover up the fact that most “vintage” shops blind buy in bulk from warehouses that pretty much buy out the left over or immovable merchandise from thrift stores…. so essentially, this is where the confusion within consumers begin. People are starting to blur the line between thrift and vintage, therefore when a true, passionate and dedicated vintage place opens… there are questions.

Some are hurtful… like, “are you like goodwill or something?”… others…. just pure comical.

So… why is OUR vintage so damn special?

weeeeeeell… to start off, vintage is the most sustainable thing you can do to reduce your carbon footprint as a consumer… and as a business… but in addition to that, we are only sourcing our vintage locally. From individuals. Which brings us to the special part….

Each piece has a story of its own… told thru the mouths of it’s keeper… or the keeper’s children, grand children, and great grandchildren.

Some of the pieces are orphans and have no special story… and that’s when our imagination runs wild and we make stories for them. Each and every vintage piece we have has a tag with a story written specifically for it.

And the last… but definitely not the least… special-ness of our vintage is the re-done part… Every single item in the store has been thoroughly inspected, refurbished either to it’s original splendor, or reconstructed into a more modern and wearable piece.

And…  excuse me all of you Halloween costume finders…. THIS IS NOT YOUR STORE.

So, sit back, relax and enjoy all the future posts… we will show you exactly how it’s done… and come by the store to see it in person!
